Caldera launches New Subscription RIP Package for Visual Communication, Industrial Printing and Packaging
April 02, 2025
Leading French printing software developer Caldera is launching GrandRIP, a new subscription RIP package for large format customers. This new subscription package is based on Caldera’s award-winning software and provides a simple yet powerful RIP solution for industrial, flatbed format and extra-wide format printers. It offers a range of essential features to bring professional print and cut workflows within reach of small businesses. It will become available in March 2025 and will be sold on an annual subscription basis. This new susbscription package complements the existing VisualRIP subscription product range.
GrandRIP’s fast and intuitive user interface enables print service providers to produce high-quality visual communications, packaging and industrial printing with ease. By simplifying essential prepress, color management, finishing and automation, this new subscription package brings a host of user benefits and allows better ROI.
GrandRIP’s compatibility with a wide range of print & cut peripherals results in optimized workflows and substantial time savings. The subscription package embeds Adobe PDF Print Engine technology and spot color libraries for accurate reproduction, along with automatic spot color detection tools for advanced color management. In addition, full support of roll cutters, cutting plotters and flatbed cutting devices is included to streamline print and cut workflows.
Sebastien Hanssens, Caldera’s VP Marketing & Operations, says, “We’ve created this new RIP package to reach out to users at the smaller end of the market who might have previously been put off by the cost and complexity of existing RIP packages. By introducing a new RIP, we’re providing affordable access to professional-level printing to a whole new group of potential customers.”
Subscribers can choose between three versions of the new package– Essentials, Pro and Max. By opting for Pro, users will benefit from InkPerformer to save up to 25% ink, and Smart Import to automate job submission to the RIP. Additionally, Max users will benefit from the REST API, the RGB Workflow and Print Standard Verifier modules.
“Providing new and existing customers with solutions that fit the way they want to print lies at the heart of everything we do,” says Sebastien Hanssens. “With GrandRIP, we’re extending our offering to users who will have had little experience of a proprietary RIP product before. It’s our chance to teach a new customer base just how easy and cost-effective it is to produce high-quality large format printing.”
